After TORTURE - Looking Forward
TORTURE is over. We took down our set and repainted the place black (with basting brushes, we had forgotten to buy paint brushes and all the stores were closed!). This has been an incredible experience, and it will always be with me. I feel so humbled when I think about how supportive everyone around me has been. Never in my wildest dreams did I think that a play I’d written would be picked up by friends who would devote themselves so completely to seeing it happen. It really makes me appreciate the collaborative nature of the theatre.
It has been a tiring process, definitely, but I’m already looking ahead! The success of TORTURE has inspired me to keep writing, and has taught me a lot about what it takes to make a good story.
I also plan to apply to study Shakespeare in Performance at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London. IT would be an incredible experience. I love Shakespeare, plus my family happens to live in London right now, so studying abroad for everyone else would really be a homecoming for me!
Stay tuned for updates on this and my other ventures, and Happy Holidays!
